Overall very good!

Graphics can be way better, I don't personally think that moving planets around with a spaceship into black holes or whatever these were is a good idea also. But it required a lot of thinking, the concept is not new, I've played something like that on a 8-bit computer probably 15 years ago, but the level designs were really well thought of and progressed in difficulty in a nice way, so you get 5/5 and 9/10.

WAY Too easy!

This game is great, but way too easy. I got to level 27 without a single "shape" touching me, and after I got all the upgrade turrets it became so boring that I quit playing. On level 25 I left my turrets to do all the work and had to take down only a couple of enemies to get through the level, without loosing any health. All this would be fine if I played this 5 or six times before so I knew the right strategies what is good to upgrade first, but I did get that far with absolutely no problem from my FIRST TRY! This should be fixed. Make it harder. A lot harder.
Otherwise, excellent.

Impressive

Quite a game you have there, I have to say. You seem not to have any problems with ideas, which is the most important thing. Executing your ideas is another thing, you have some issues to resolve there, but you are totally on the right track. OK, where to start from. Controls menu - should clarify that on rollover you get info about controlls, because people are lazy and they might miss that. Funny thing is - I didn't find a "back" button in this menu, so I had to close the window and open the game again to play it. Maybe there is but I couldn't see it. Another thing - controlls on the first seed were not working very well all the time, sometimes it allowed me to move it up just a little so I had to press on it like 15 times to get it to the height that I wanted. Check this one out if you can. The catapult grapics on ejection didn't seem realistic - it looked like you're going to fall down and in the next second you're flying high.
I know you spent quite a while on the graphics and they are good, but not great, you should work on that a little more.
Overall - despite the problems with controls and everything else mentioned, you have an excellent game concept. I salute you and I wish you good luck from now on.

The button on the instructions screen to get back to the main menu says "Main Menu"... right under the only other text on that screen that says "Mouse over images for controls"... so when you say people are lazy, and aren't going to take the time to notice... my guess is that you have first-hand experience.

Also, with the first seed and having to click on and off of the flower to raise and lower the platform, my guess here is that you had used up all of your super-power (noted, for your convenience, in a little log filled with the green of the power bar in the top-left hand corner of the screen). Each time you try to raise or lower the platform without any energy to do so, you are turned back into the main character again because you no loinger have the power to affect the flower.

However... even though there are legitimate explanations for why the game "failed" for you at times, I do understand that certain things could have been spelled out better to the player. Like walking through the features of the HUD at some point, and specificaly citing the energy meter that allows you to utilize your seed powers, etc.

Thanks for the review.

I don't understand....

Give me one reason why you did this. What is the purpose of it. You spent a lot of time on it, so you get my 2/5 and 3/10 but why? Why do you just blindly copy something that exists out there. You don't add anything new to it, except some features that are not exciting at all. You even keep the same boring design that the Windows one has. You could at least try to reskin the thing. I have to say that I did not find any bugs and the game is executed well, the thing is that you receive -10 on creativity. Just try to come up with something that is your own concept, you have the actionscripting abilities.

Good game

Pretty cool game I gotta say. Few things - the slo-mo is completely useless, meaning that you can handle the thing only with your mouse even slower that using slo-mo. Of course if you know how, which is not very difficult to figure out. Knowing that it was easy and I didn't die much or had any problems with the first 20 something levels and the game become a little repetitive and boring. Nice effort, cool concept, you got 4 on it.

Here we go...

Your game would get probably 4/5 and 7/10 from me if you didn't write the retarded author's comments on it.
To make a bad copy of Drawplay and claim that you made something "new and extraordinary" it's just... not right, but I guess you fooled a good amount of people.
According to Oxford Dictionary,
Definition for new:
NEW - not existing before; seen, heard of, introduced, for the first time;
EXTRAORDINARY - beyond what is usual or ordinary, remarkable

I don't think your game matches any of these.
But it is an OK game.

Yeap, you can draw

This game has one of the best artworks ever. My eyes feel so good after what I saw, great landscapes, every detail was amazing, fluid movement. Superb work, man! The only complaint - boring repetitive enemies, but awsome bosses.
Bad things (that you know of, but fucking fix them) are only actionscripting issues - you can go off the stage and when you die, your health is the same. Oh, and don't listen to wussies that moan that it's difficult - it's not really that hard.

mongoid responds:

Thank you for the kind words! I tried my hardest to make the project at least look like a professional console title. Flash's vector art helps make your sprites look sooo crisp and clean, no matter what resolution. In fact, try pulling the swf out of your browser cache and play it fullscreen. It looks AWESOME!

You can see why The Behemoth uses Flash as one of their primary production tools. Doing Alien Hominid HD for XBox 360 Arcade is a fantastic example of the power of vector assets.

Well I'll be damned... you CAN run off stage. Hahahaha why didn't I catch that?

No good

This flash can be so much better in two aspects - design and concept. For something that is only text, the background is highly innapropriate. It is almost the same as the previous one, whats the point of submitting another one? It can be helpful for some people but it's definitely not helpful for the site itself, as you encourage people to vote 5 or 0. Not inbetween. You even include a quiz where we can vote on movies without actually seeing them, which is probably what you do. As a flash artist that spends a lot of time and eneegy to create movies and games I want my stuff to be fairly judged, not with 5 or 0.

highwatermark responds:

A fair judgment in your case would be a "5".

Excellence!!!

Wow, just wow. Great game. Took me probably 3 hours to beat it though. No regrets. It was worth it. The last part, where I had to put the episodes together was just evil, man. I couldn't stop playing, now as I beat it all of a sudden everything goes back to it's place - I realize I'm hungry as hell, I need to smoke a ciagette and I need to pee. Somehow I forgot about these for the last 3 hours.
Graphics are absolutely brilliant. Is the story... personal in a way?
Violence 5 and Humor 5 - all because of the electric mathematic thing, it was hillarious.

Enjoyable

Ha, now instead of destroying the world we have to save it. And it regenerates. This affects your Humor score, I thought it was funny, the whole concept of World Health. Good game, only thing is - maybe make it so you can heal the world. haha
